When pruning this type of cress, is it correct that those with flowers will eventually die but young plants may survive depending upon the severity of the cut? Thanks.

Don't know about "pruning it" I just cut mine down to the soil and wait for it to grow again.

Thanks for the reply Lotus-eater. Thought I'd used the right term as the land cress is overly abundant so have been collecting the leaves before eventually completely clearing some of it. Some of the plants are much taller than others.

I only let mine grow to a few inches and keep cutting it, not sure how big yours is.

I'm the same as lotus-eater as I only let mine grow to maybe 1.5 - 2 inches before I cut it and even then it is HOT!! I've been sowing it every few weeks to have a constant supply.

    Thanks for the replies.

Mine vary in height - a few inches, 50cm approx those that have flowered and 100cm approx those with seed pods.

I know the young leaves are recommended more than the older but I've been collecting both. Do you use the flowers too?

Yes, the leaves seem "hot" so this makes it harder to use in large amounts.

Well you're sowing too much then.
I haven't got any going atm, but I will soon.
I only grow a flower trough full and that will last for ages, as I say and kimmee says, we use it when it's a couple of inches tall, so we don't get flowers, we don't even get plants really, just tiny seedlings.

Yes, my records suggests the whole "big" packet was sowed in 2006 so through various ways I have now got so many.

    Thanks.
