upset by people being mean

Hi
I only joined recentaly and have got loads of ideas from other brides to be
but i just wanted to say that i get really upset by all the
negativity on here.
we will all have own our opinions of what we like and don't like and at the end of the day we are all individuals and each have our own taste-but this does not give us the right to be horrible to each other and other peoples ideas and thoughts
i love coming on here and reading the posts and chatting to other brides to be, but i get really upset when people are extremely
rude
to each other.
if you don't want to be nice, then please don't try and ruin it for the rest of us.
Is a married woman!! 23rd July 2011 Best day of my life!

I'm not aware of any negativity lately - not in any major amounts anyway.
Sometimes there is a strong opinion, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

From the amount of brides that come back on the forum after their wedding to say
thank you and share their photos, I would say that the forum is more helpful than
    b*tchy.

There are some posters who aren't particularly constructive, and those who start
threads for the sake of starting a thread, but that's the same of all forums.

I think it is important to remember that there are a lot of people (brides2be!)
that are quite stressed with their wedding plans - and when that happens, there
is naturally a bit of friction.
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

  • Sammy I don't particularly think there's any rudeness. If I do spot anything I tend to ignore it. Hope you carry on posting

I think I know the thread that's prompted this one Sammy and I agree, there are ways of phrasing things. I know very well the argument that the written word can sometimes be misconstrued because you can't hear the voice inflection or see the body language but there are certain people who post who know just how to use the written word to be horrid.
If you don't like something by all means say so - but there's no need to be nasty or horrid.

If you get upset reading this forum, i wouldn't go looking for any others, you'll never recover.

I do wonder what prompts users to join a forum then go on to moan about it though..

I agree, tamarto there's a certain forum I no longer visit because I was appalled at the b*tchiness there!

Maybe they don't see something as negative, but as practical/realist.

They're allowed their opinions too, don't you think?

Or are you saying forums should only be populated by people who agree with you?

But to be fair, a lot of people do have issues with littering the countryside - with balloons, sky lanterns and firework debris.
None of these things are illegal, so there is nothing to stop people from using them - but that doesn't stop people getting upset about animals that die because they've swallowed part of a sky latern etc.

    Hi sammy
there are a few people who are, deliberately antagonistic. They do it on purpose to cause a reaction, which they usually get. It used to upset me too but I've just learnt to ignore these people and not react at all to what they say. It is hard though...
99% of the people on here are lovely and supportive, and even if they may not agree with you or have a different opinion are polite.
Don't let the negative people bother you... I don't anymore :p
