DH made redundant 04/2009 with (largish) payout. Straight into another job. Made redundant 11/2009 (no payout) Had contribution based JSA for 12 weeks. Started as a self employed contractor - setting up own limited co in Feb 2010. Contract coming to an end next week (found out yesterday) No other work lined up
I don't work as such - am director of DH's ltd co and take £572.02 net salary/ month for doing paperwork. Have no recent work record (was s/e but exempt from NI due to small earnings and then had 4th child May 2009)
We have some money in ltd co, but obv corp tax and accountants fees will need to be paid, so I don't think there's much - certainly we couldn't draw from it for more than a couple of months without any income to it.
We never used to get tax credits (DH's salary) but put in a claim for this year - haven't heard back yet - because of lower s/e earnings.
If he's still employed by his ltd co, I take it DH can't get any benefits? - even though we wouldn't be taking drawings after August (max - may be end of July)
Can we get anything? We have 4 children and a mortgage and all the usual bills. Oh, and about £15500 in cash savings left...
Thanks!!

You will find the 'Entitled to' (turn to us) website very helpful for determining benefits.0

outside of the accountant fees, how much is left in the ltd company to pay salaries each month? You can still pay a salary, you'll only have to pay corp tax if there's any profit left.0
