Lipstick or lip gloss

Hi, which do you prefer, lipstick or lip gloss. I love lip gloss but find my hair sticks to it when I have it down.

Which brand do you prefer?

I prefer lipgloss. At the moment I'm liking Bourjour effect 3D. I think lipgloss is very youthful and great for older women (like me), as opposed to a matt colour imo.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I do like gloss but it always feels sticky, the one I've used before is Clinique glosswear. I note that lipsticks that are like glosses are also on the market too.

I wear Carmex balm almost all the time, as my lips are fairly dry.
Can't get on with the sticky lip glosses, but depending on what I'm wearing I sometimes go for a bright coloured lipstick, i.e a red or something, if I'm wearing hardly any other makeup!

i asked this question a while ago too. and the answers may be helpful to you. though i have not specifically bought a lipgloss, i have happily gone and bought the Red magazine which had a free Jemma Kidd lipgloss, which is actually really nice. and having won the flake/Benefit competition, i have chosen a lipgloss and think that this is the best so far. it doesn't feel sticky, has a lovely consistency and nice smell.

    hth!

I use elizabeth arden 8 hour cream on my lips and bits...just because its really moisturising and glossy at the same time. I get really dry lips and have tried loads of stuff and this is the only thing that works for me.

Never pay full price for it though

Gloss of sorts...i use elizabeth arden 8 hour cream for lips but only because its the only thing i've found to keep my lips soft and moisturised and its glossy at the same time...i also use it on my eyebrows and eyelids...never pay full price for it though ;)

Gloss all the way, I never use lipstick anymore.

I am into Urban Decay at the moment but the minute something else comes along that is seriously reduced I will move on to that.

    Hi,

I read in a mag a long time ago that using just a few dabs of gloss along the lips (as opposed to spreading on your lips) has the same effect as the conventional way of using it....if that makes any sense!!

I tried it and it looked like I was wearing it the noramal way, it was a lot less sticky but I seemed to have to apply it more often.

I agree. I tend to wear a tinted lip balm rather than a lip stick or lip gloss. When the occasion calls for it though I wear lipstick in a neutral shade (I can't really get away with anything too dark or too vivid). My lips are prone to cracking easily so I need a good creamy one. I find Bourgeois the easiest to wear. I definitely don't do lip gloss though - sticks to my hair and gets on my nerves!
