Parking Control Services Fine

Hi,

Im looking for some advice, ive receieved a parking charge notice this morning from Parking Control Services for " Parking in a no parking area". I live in a residentrial area where the parking is regulate by this company. Have lived here for 3 months and we have parked in the same, or similiar, spots for the whole time with no problem. There are designated parking spaces, which we parked in, and also lots of cars park alongside the curb. it does not obstruct other bays.

I was parked alongside the curb. There is a notice and it can be contrued that we were parked incorrectly according to this notice. However i feel thath this is very unfaur and tbh do not wish to pay it. i rent a property here so im sure it can be assumed that because i do then i agree to the contract this parking company has in place.

The company is Parking Control Services. Can i simply ignore this notice in the hope that it goes away. they say they will tow my car eventually in order to retrieve outstanding fines.

On their website it says you can get DIY parking Ticket kits to issue your won!!!! I honestly think someone got a bit fed up of ppl parking there and did this in order to issue their own tickets!

Does the ticket need to be signed by an individual?

Thankyou,

If you want anymore information just ask.

Ignore them completely, they are a private parking company and their so called parking ticket is not enforcible in law, which means they won't take you to court, what they will do is send you letter from bogus debt collecting agents and solicitors , they are all to be ignored, and certainly don't pay them a single penny.

Take a look at this recent BBC Watchdog snippet, its the same with all PPC's

The only tickets you need to deal with are ones from the council or police.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

  • Is this form of DIY ticketing unnacceptable. It says on their site your dont need a license to do so!!

Looks like i cant even leave my car in my allotted space outside my flat now tho cos otherwise they will tow it away!!

Im all to keen to tell em to jog on but my mrs is a legal advisor, jsut finished a law dgree and post-grad and she thinks i should be a bit more careful.

Would love to hear some more opinions on this diy ticketing scheme.

Well if she is a legal advisor, ask her to find legislation that makes these tickets enforcible, she will find that they are not! Also ask her to ask some colleagues about this, the BBC Watchdog programme is not going to show something like this unless they have know that.

Also on their website, is about wheel clamping in Scotland, in fact its illegal to clamp in Scotland as from 2003 I believe ;)

And this is wrong also.--The DVLA has recently brought in stronger regulation of how and to whom they will disclose the details of the registered keeper of a vehicle committing a parking offence. It is now required that any person or organisation that wishes to access this information must be Approved Operators of the British Parking
    Association
Anyone with "Reasonable Cause" and the cash can get the info.

Ask your wife to revisit Contract Law.
  • She's done a bit of diggging and it would appear it comes down to whether they can prove i was the driver or not. If they can then yes i am in breach of contract and they are entitled to charge me. this is assuming that it was the mgmt company that issued the ticket
