oh yes forgot to add yes if I had a £1.00 voucher and used it against my shopping yes it would be as good as cash, but don't forget voucher usage is a BONUS not an automatic right and policies vary from cashier to cashier and store policy too.

Well said Welshy. But what a great bonus :T

Agree with what everyone else has said, just an extra thought....have a regular peek (once a week) in your local Boots, Superdrug and independent Chemists.

As well as the Nice & Easy coupons mentioned earlier, this was apparently where people came by the £1 off Vicks First Defence vouchers last year. There were loads listed on eBay, I bought some (was not an MSEer then so didn't know where else to get them) then the first time I used them in Tesco the till lady said 'oh, they had a load of these in Boots last week, I managed to pick up a few and told my friends, and now they've all gone....'!

Printed off ones are good if your Supermarket takes them (mine does) as it's like printing free money!!:rotfl:

  • In Tesco last week they were promoting the new Fusion Gillette razor. There was a stand giving away voucher worth £2. Only got one but they do scan at Tesco without buying the product. Also picked another two vouchers up at the Metrocentre on Saturday.

Quick question - I have a vouchre for 500 points if you spend £20 on clothes at Tesco. If I bought soemthing then took it back will they takes the points off?
  • The voucher in Saturdays mail was good too.I've just used it in tesco, scanned fine and 3.50 of my shopping.Thank you mse!!
  • have anyone tried asda for redeeeming vouchers? tried morrisons today for the first time but they said to buy the product 1st! i was so embarrased! Should i do a big shopping list and sneak those vouchers in or should i do a small one but only 1 voucher at a time?

Close to me there are 2 Asdas. A few months ago I did quite a big shop at one and was shocked to be told 'only one voucher'. So next time I was bored with the monotony of Tesco, I went to the other Asda for a few bits.

First of all I went to the CS desk and asked how many coupons do they accept please, if I don't buy the products? 'All of them' they replied, nodding encouragingly (as long as they are in date and not internet printed nor the ones cut from their own magazine - or other Supermarket mag. You would have to buy the product to use them). 'What, even if I spend over £50 or something?' I asked, 'yes, no problem' was the reply!!!

So of course I got more than just a few bits and pieces. And guess which Asda I have NEVER been back to since (and never will)?

IME no they will not take the points off. I would DEFINITELY use the coupon, it's worth the £20 in Deals, and if you can use some other money-off coupons at the same time you'll be paying less than that.

If I were you though I would do 2 things first,

    1. See if any of your Tescos locally have the '£6 off £30 clothing spend' type vouchers that are around at the moment (there are some on eBay but best to source them free if you can). Then see if the cashier will use all of the coupons at once (e.g. see the recent thread 'great voucher day', you can use a £3 off £20, AND a £6 off £30, AND - if you spend enough - the £10 off £50 one at the same time, as well as your points one. If you have a double points coupon too, that's the day to use it).

    2. When you go to spend the coupons, buy some other normal food etc. too. Then if you do take something back for a refund the coupons on the bottom of the receipt are not so obviously clothing ones, could have been other vouchers (I suppose, if you'd been lucky enough to have such biggies!).

Anyhoo, I have never had the points taken back for any refund.

    HTH :o

  • No I have never had the points deducted when I have returned something either. Interesting point about the fusion vouchers, I have several but assumed that as they are Tesco specific that I would have to purchase the razor - will use them now.

My local Tesco will not take the Asda or Sainsbury vouchers so I do not tend to look out for them.

Yes I've never had them taken off either. But unless you want to get into trouble with Mr T. I wouldn't do it often.
