...... that end up taking you all night!
I saw a clump of clover in the back lawn so thought a quick rake would do the trick. How wrong as the clump was only part of the growth and it took me about 3 hours by the time I took clover out by the roots as much as I could and then raked up all the dead moss that was in there too!
Has anyone else started a 5 minute task and ended up using up an entire evening/afternoon/morning?

Yes. Lastnight DH and I were milling around in the garden, playing with the dog and having a cuppa. It was about 8pm. As I walked past the flowerbed I happened to bend down and pull up a huge weed. Hubby saw me, bent down and copied, pulling up another weed...
At 9.10pm we were still at it, having weeded the flowerbed and moved onto the veggie patch! It's a job we've not kept on top of though, so really needed doing

I know I will get many laughs from a thred like this as I can relate to the first 2 posts. I think most of my little jobs turn into huge ones. My latest one is sweeping up some grass cuttings from the edge of the drive on the front. This turned into sweeping the whole drive, which continues through the side gate and past the house. I then had to sweep the patio of course. I was about to start weeding the patio when OH called me say "hey I thought you were only doing that bit of grass" lol.
The biggest 5 minute job has to be filling in a form. The digin seed requst form lol. That has turned into a life long job venturing into the greenfigered world.0 -
I find picking a few weeds out does wonders to your plants and keeps everything in order.Kind Regards
