Holiday changed by Thomson

Thomson have just rung me to tell me that the hotel I am going all inclusive with has stopped doing it and if I keep the holiday (Port Aventura with the theme park etc) they will give me:
150 Euro room cashback
20 Euro each per day (2 adults, 2 kids) = £65 per day

They are making our holiday half board.

Im not sure if this is worth it and just wanted some advice on wether I should take the deal or look for another holiday. Can they do this after I have paid for a package that suited me?

Kids were really looking forward to going there.

I mean whats average price of a meal for 4 + drinks, + more drinks + ice creams etc.

We booked this then we wouldnt have to worry about what we were spending and enjoy the holiday, now Im gonna be penny watching all week.

Im not saying we will over indulge but 4 drinks each and 4 icecreams in a day will be nearly £65.

I need to let them know today what I intend to do.

It seems like a good offer to me TBH.

It's not the kind of holiday where you'll be sittng around the resort all day every day to get the full benefit of AI. You will have to buy drinks and ice creams when you're out at the theme park, water park and beach anyway so really they're doing you a favor.

Also, would you really eat a full breakfast, lunch and dinner when it's hot and would you break up your day and the theme park to come back for lunch?

And yes, they can do this. The hotel doesn't offer the service anymore, they can't give you what is not available. The compensation seems quite generous to me.

I would take the deal. I tend to go half board on some holidays especially if it's hot as you eat a massive breakfast - make the most of it - then for lunch you just want a snack or a piece of fruit and then have the full dinner...

take the cash, enjoy it at the theme park...
