I am not the most PC savvy person around so would like some guidance/advice please.
Every day now i am seeing the windows yellow shield in the task bar telling me of an update.
When i initiate the update i see that it appears to be the same one every day i.e KB967715.
Surely this can't be right?
I have windows xp and have auto updates switched on etc so i am pleased if this is normal, butit just seems so abnormal.
Any ideas?

Hi there, try downloading and saving the update manually (link to update). Then boot into safe mode (press F8 when the computer is booting up, more info here) and install it. This should stop it from re-appearing. Failing that you can hide the update by choosing the custom option rather than express install, untick the box next to that update and it shouldnt appear again!

Thanks for that.
I will have a go shortly.
Just out of interest is this the same update that keeps reappearing or is everybody with windows getting it?

Microsoft always release major updates on the last wedneday on the month when needed.
Also try visiting windows update as it could be that you have a more recent update means this one will show outstanding but not install as i used to have a similar problem when SP3 came out0 -
