Friday 2nd July - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D:D

Good morning - woke up to rain here, what's going on?!;)
So, another day of not much happeneing....waiting for an email from the Uni about my fees and restarting the year...it's soooooo annoying, I can't get a final answer on the situation from anyone:o

Meeting a friend for a coffee later, not seen her since before my op, so that'll be lovely. Girls off with their dad tonight so a lazy evening, no having to rush and feed them...bliss:p

Ok, list time:
  • check banking
  • daily scratch
  • hope my email about uni arrives....with a helpful answer:rotfl:
  • packed lunch for dd2 to school
  • hoover/sweep floor
  • meals from store
  • start next week's meal plan and shopping list - will go to Asda on Monday
  • go to work to photocopy all my sicknotes for Student Finance
  • LSD - just a cuppa while out
  • washing - but it's raining....dd1 needs a dress washed for SUnday, typical
  • water heating on minimally
  • quick shower
Ok....enough from me.
Am contemplating starting a new diary too - maybe this weekend!!

Have a great day - nearly the wekeend:beer::beer:

    Morning Millyscarlet and all who follow!

    I'm a real haphazard poster on here, but this month I'm on a real mission to save money. Going to be an extremely tight month and a real struggle so I'm determined to do all I can to stay on straight and narrow!

    So...today:

    * Joined NSD challenge
    * Joined July Grocery challenge
    * Will ring CCCS for review
    * Do freezer inventory
    * Do meal plan for next week
    * Checked on-line banking :eek:
    * Go to Mums this afternoon, use her electric and eat her food! (its alright, I was invited...I'm not squatting!:rotfl:)
    * Check with work that I can book this week as holiday instead of not getting paid sick (broke my foot this time last week!:eek:)
    * Check out old-style forum for tips on cheap meals
    * Contemplate hobbling round iceland tomorrow WITH shopping list!

    Thats about it for today. Hope everyone has good days!

    Miss P
    xx

    No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one! :mad:

    Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T

    Morning All - grey here - but still very warm! Thanks for starting the thread Milly.

    Today I will/have:
    • Washing on low on dry on airer - may risk just standing airer outside so I can whip it in quick if it rains rather than pegging out ;)
    • HM chicken stock from last nights roast made in slow cooker overnight
    • Have booked friends b'day present for spa day for a bargain £10 at the beautiful hotel where we got married - and I get a cheap spa day too!
    • lunch and tea from stores
    • Friend coming round this morning with her LO for a cuppa and a catch up :)
    • Sign new contract for work and send back, ask them to pay my accrued holiday and BH (should be about 1 full months salary). Will try and put this straight on credit card if poss - this would seriously bring forward my DFD
    • Phone holiday place we have found as it wasn't letting me book on line last night and I don't want to loose it as it's a really good deal (and starts 2 weeks on sat!) :):):T:T

    Think that's about it. Have a great day everyone x

    Morning All :wave:
    (though now I'm a bit self conscious about the number of smilies I'm using :o :rotfl:)

    I'm going to spend the day at home - I keep "popping out" with my neighbour and we end up having lunch out (it's what ex-pat wives do :o )
    She's coming round for coffee instead so if I put a cake in the oven I'll have an excuse to stay in :D
    Otherwise I plan to do:
    Another 10 mins on the cross trainer (2 lots of 10 in a day is as far as I've got in the week we've had it, but getting fitter every day)
    catch up on the Archers omnibus on-line (I know :o but it sounds like England ;))
    Make a meal plan for next week
    Knit some more
    On-line banking
    Nothing from Quidco this month, but loads in the pipeline :(
    Check out requirements for a Visa for Mozambique, and the cheapest way to acquire one. Do you think a home-printed photo would do?
    Catch up on my bluddy correspondence which I've been saying now for 10 days :mad: and still haven't gotten round to :o
    Laundry HK, line dried, it's cold but not wet here.

    Have a great day everyone :A

    its a way of joining bingo sites and taking advantage of free daily scratchcards which mean you can win some money - you have to be very careful tho
