I'm certainly no expert but I think it all depends on whether you're growing them in pots or in the ground. If in pots then you need to water every day, especially if you're having the hot weather that we are in east anglia. If they're in the ground then I think you need to see how much rain yu get but as I'm only growing in pots I don't have any experience of this but someone much more knowledgeable than me will be along before too long

You should start feeding your toms as soon as they start to flower, regardless of size. HTH

I water all plants in ground and in pots every day it doesn't rain and then if its a small shower I still water. I use tom feed every week on all plants and flowers and works great.Kind Regards

The idea is to keep the ground moist.
If your plants don't get enough water they become stunted. Lettuce in particular will bolt if allowed to dry out and then you water again.
Remember; crop rotation is equally important. Crops should not be grown in the same area each year. The only thing that you grow in the same place each year is runner beans.
I'm full of advice now that I no longer bother with a veg garden!!!Trying to learn something new every day.

Sounds like you follow the same watering schedule as I have done for years.
Beans, squashes, tomatoes and courgettes need water - especially when in flower. Tomatoes need 'water + feed' on a weekly basis once in flower.
I don't water kale, beetroot, broccoli, root crops like leeks, carrots, onions, potatoes etc. at all
Less water means that they have to put down deep, deep water-seeking roots and work harder - and that's good for them. I might treat them differently if I were growing them for exhibition. 0 -
