Cheapest Vet Bill Ever

Moved to home town from the city 1 year ago and had to take my pooch to the local Vet today for the first time since arriving here. He had a couple of things wrong with him and knew from experience what he would require. Took £200 with me hoping it would be no more and kept my fingers crossed! Anyhow he needed antibiotics (2 weeks), steriods (2 weeks), anti-allergy dog food and ear drops (50ml) - the price....£45!!!!
Can't believe it - surely this must be the cheapest Vet in the UK:j

There is a huge variation in vets bills all over the place. People need to get out of this mentality of "all vets are scandalously expensive" and learn to shop around.

People should shop around, I have just moved vets on the basis of price even though the new vet is 20 miles away from me.....When my girl had her TPLO, my own vet charged £480 for an xray to confirm the condition. The specialist vet who performed the op charged £112 for an after op xray!!!! When I queried other things such as innoculations, treatments and worming, it was over 50% cheaper at the new vets........A lot of my neighbours have moved too because of this, my old vet had a monopoly here but he's now losing a lot of customers...........

  • I too have changed vets recently as they were recommended. They are part of Medivet? And as much as I loved my old vets, seeing their big expensive £6000 watch and nice cars was just too much!

So, this new vet is just as friendly and very reasonably priced, to castrate my new kitten is only £29.00 which I think is bargainous. Also saved alot on their vaccinations.

Deffo good to look around :money:
