i dont see why everyone is moaning at 4.8% the e saver may not be the best savings around but it is not that bad. And i my experience the nationwide customer services has always been top notch0

What do you mean when you say "I am sure"...0 -
I off to HK again in November for an eight month holiday and I'll be taking my Nationwide Debit card with me as usual:)0

I've recently removed most of my savings (eSavings/ISA) from Nationwide due to their relatively poor interest rates (see also other threads on same subject).
I wondered whether there could be any reason why Nationwide are following this strategy (apart from greed). Do they have too many savers and need to shed some? Is it something to do with a possible conversion from a building society in the not too distant future? Very odd . . . :cool:0 -
I don't suppose sponsoring the England football team and the Mercury music prize comes too cheap either.0

I am still happy up to now with my saving so will stick with them for the time beingYung

I hope you are right. I have been with them a long time too. Must admit that I use the card abroad to pay hotel bills as I book hotels direct i.e. no package tours. Also, the last Christmas bond had a good rate at 6%.
I stopped on line banking with them after I realised that any money movements had to be via the Flex account and there were a few days when little interest was being applied. I thought it was a sneaky way of having on line banking.0 -
Moving money online between any of my NW accounts is instant.God save the King!
I'll save Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, J. M. W. Turner and Alan Turing.0 -
For those of you who feel NW are no longer offering top rates, etc I think you should take a look at the "a&l direct prem 6.1" thread:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=260068
This is just the type of rubbish that NW do not provide, i.e. limited time period, limited amounts, ridiculous rates if you go over the rate, changing the product in a very short time period.
I think NW offer reasonably good products with reasonably good service. They are probably the only provider who offer the same product to new people as well as existing members.
I had been a mortgage tart for many, many years. During that time I longed for a lender to offer a reasonably good product to existing customers rather than me having to continually move my mortgage - and now I've found one. Same principle follows their savings rates.
Simple answer is if you dont like it, move it (and I'm no exception) but try to see the bigger picture.
