sure start maternity grant

as I asked a few days ago, does anyone know details of when the cut of for Sure Start Maternity grant is. is it for applications before april, babies born before april?
now if someone could answer they question if it is know that would be great and all trolls could stay away with their unsolicited benefits bashing.
I dont want to have baby for the money, the money is needed to make up the loses incurred with the drastically raised VAT rate and the cut of maternity benefits etc as will clearly not be able to work all the hours sent if there were any.

found this on another site... think it was babycentre.co.uk and it says.....
i read the budget documents to find out about the HIP grant and the sure start. link from bbc.co.uk/budget.
They end in JAN 2011 so women who are pregnant now will not be affected by the changes.

thanks, but I read the budget thing and it only says jan 2011 for health in pregnancy grant which is not means tested but any one gets it no matter how much they earn and I feel that that needs to be scrapped anyway. but it has not details for the sure start grant nor does anyone seem to know, bit of a ridiculous situation at the mo, me thinks, shall try social fund again, if no one knows.0

It means you need to be 29 weeks pregnant before jan 2011 to claim it so you need to be pregnant before the new rules came in.0

No not unless you want a very premature baby and give birth at 23 weeks. which would be the last week of december i think.0

If you were pregnant before the new budget was announced you will get it, if you were to fall pregnant in july or august you wont get it.0
