Camping with children

We are considering camping with our 4yr old and 18 month boys. We do not have any kit, we were looking into purchasing some bits but i wonder weather hubby will like it. (I know i'll be fine served in the army i can deal with roughing it) are there any campsites with pre erected tents etc that we can just take sleeping bags etc? Just to get the feel for camping befor we go the whole hog and buy a tent?
Thanks lolly x

Half the fun is putting your own tent up in the pouring rain :rotfl:

    How's this for starters:
    http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_745505_langId_-1_categoryId_165617cm_cr=No%20Campaign-_-Web%20Activity-_-05-MAR10-CAMPING-M-5-_-PRODCAT_ESPOTMAIN_165556-_-05-MAR10-CAMPING-M-5
All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.

Was actually looking at that in a separate "tab" I read there is no fixed ground sheet in the main bit just the bedrooms will this make the other bits wet and muddy? x

Yes, the trick is, only go camping when it's not gonna rain ;)
At that price though, it's lucky to have a sewn in groundsheet in the bedroom.

I have a huge Outwell tent complete with sewn in ground sheet, even a carpet.

But it's such a drag for a weekend - takes up the whole car, and takes half a day to erect, that I'm looking at the Halfords one for shorter camps (overnight and weekends).

Because it comes with sleeping bags and beds, then, if you decide to opt for a better tent if you like camping, you can ebay the tent, keep the bags, and put the proceeds towards something better. Without losing much dosh.

Thank you - Think i'm going to go for this one, they seem to sell well on ebay if it is a disaster :D Hopefully not though x

Im not used to posh camping, we stayed in pontins our last break away! That barely had a carpet x

Keycamp will set up a tent for you.

You can also hire tents if you don't want to go the whole way and buy one.
