Ebay account hi-jacking

Does anyone have any idea just who rife account hi-jacking is ? I have been trying to sell an XDA mini-s but both times I have listed, seemingly normal UK trading accounts have ended with apparent overseas addresses. Ebay are aware of what is happening and have suspended the listings, but since at least 4 accounts were used to mimic bidding, you wonder just how prevalent this is and whether is will ever be possible to sell small, relatively high value items.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused

Account hijacking is where a user, usually a seller compromises their log in info and the account literally gets 'hijacked' by someone else and used to sell high end goods that they don't actually have.

However, reading your post, I rather think you mean you have had non paying bidders, or possibly foreign ones you don't want, is that correct?

You can set your preferences to exclude bidders from countries you do not ship to. You can also set your auction to end at a time that you can watch it and remove any unwelcome bids so they cannot win.

No. Bona-fide UK accounts were hi-jacked and the item bid up to silly money. Then the address at the end of bidding comes up as somewhere in the USA, despite my having an international bidder ban. Then came the e-mail about sending to Indonesia as a present....

You would have to be stupid to fall for it, but that's two auctions ruined and potential good bidders outbid while I sit and wait for the £20 in fees I have been charged to be cancelled.
