2 cards needed to stooze

I have just cleared off 2 credit cards after using the 0% balance transfers to clear my debts over the last year. One had £10k limit, other was £6k (santander and post office)

I want to apply for 2 new cards, to get money into my current account to buy a car, and pay back the cards monthly til the introductory offers end in 12 (or 13 or however many months time)

Whats probably the best 2 cards to apply for (I know a lot of companies are all linked, will this mean i wont get the cash transfer option as im not a new customer?)

Thanks in advance

The post office card I think will allow you to money transfer to your current account (might depend on which partic card you have). How recently did you clear that one? If you haven't actually closed it, it might be worth seeing if they are likely to give you another 0% deal.

    Thanks again Tixy,

unfortunately i cancelled my post office card last week, got letter through confirming it a day ago :o

Are there any other cards i may get quite a generous credit limit on, ideally looking for 2? And would it be best to apply for them at the same time, or few days/weeks apart?

    Thanks again

In reality would need a lot more information on your personal circumstances to allow people to make comparisons.

I've had £15k limits from MBNA backed cards and £13k limit with Santander card. RBS cards total around £15k limits as do HBOS cards.

They're your main players for large limits IME.

right i think i need to put about £10k on the card/cards i apply for, and have 2 options:

buy the car on the card/cards and pay the 2.5% fee with the dealer

    or

transfer money into my current account (4% fee's i think?) and bargain with him with hard cash?

am i right in thinking it'll cost me and extra £250 with a dealer to buy it on a card, and £400 to put £10k into my current account?

Am i likely to get a better deal (more than the £150 difference off) buy bargaining with cash?

    Thanks again
