I have setup my NAS drive in my home but was wondering is there a way that i can access it remotely?
Also for this to work well, doi need a ISP with a high upload speed?

I presume you mean from outside your home over the internet.I have setup my NAS drive in my home but was wondering is there a way that i can access it remotely?

Yes you can, but you need your ISP to provide you with a fixed IP address and ideally you need a URL to access it, although this is not mandatory. There are workarounds which allow you to use your ISPs dynamic addressing.
But do you really want to do this? Your NAS box will become accessible to anyone more or less and you will need a firewall to prevent the rest of your network becoming publicly accessible.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. It's possible, but the chances are you're on one of the 99% of ISPs with a pathetic upload speed. I guess it depends what you intend to be accessing and from where, but if you're thinking about doing anything more than listening to your MP3s when away from home, forget it.
You won't need a fixed IP address. You might have a sticky dynamic address anyway that only changes when you reboot the router (or leave it off overnight) or you might have a completely dynamic one.
A lot of routers have dynamic DNS functionality built in if yours is completely dynamic.
I agree though, that it's quite a security risk.
I don't know how much data you're talking about, but you might want to look into web drives/online storage. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
I sure hope you have more than a dsl modem between your home network and the internet.0
