John Lewis or White Company for towels?

Hi everyone,
Friend is getting married and she has requested white egyptian cotton towels. John Lewis has a sale at the moment but I don't know whether to splurge and get her a set from the White Company.
I don't mind spending more at the White Company if the quality is worth it, but if there is not much in it, John Lewis is a lot cheaper.
Does anyone have any experience of either brand?
Hope this is on the right board.
Thankjs

I have White Company and John Lewis towels and they are pretty much the same quality. The White Company ones were bought at least 8 years ago and although the colours have faded they are still in good condition.
However the best towels I have bought recently are from Tesco Finest.0 -
Neither,

I recently bought some egyptian towels from here. They are so lovely and soft that I bought a few more for the store cupboard. Their duvet covers and sheets are also good. They claim to supply the Big Brother house with their duvets - I already have a newish duvet so haven't bought one of those.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
During the sales just after Christmas, I bought some fantastic, very thick, excellent quality towels in M&S from their Autograph range. They've stood up to lots of washing, feel really luxurious to use and look good, too. I preferred them to the ones I saw in John Lewis - and I'm usually a big JL fan.0

Dunelm's egyptian cotton towels are ridiculously luxurious and don't cost much. I :heartpuls themI was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Thanks very much - I have just got myself a silk pillowcase from the link provided - http://www.duvetandpillowwarehouse.co.uk/department/Silk/Range/Silk-Bed-Linen.
Apparently one of my beauty friends it stops your face from getting creased compared to the starch linen, I think she may have a point as I always have crease marks on my face from lying on the pillow. Anything to look younger eh?
Thanks for the other links but dare I say it do you think it would look a little cheap to give Dunelm towels for a wedidng present over John Lewis or White Company or do I sound like a total snob?;)0 -
Hi, I'm a big fan of CHRISTY towels - excellent quality, nice and thick, wash well.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0

The John Lewis range of white towels vary considerably from the cheapy ones to the very nice extreemly soft luxury range. Buy with care, but if you get the good ones you will not be disappointed.
We get our towels and bedding from John Lewis and have not been disappointed."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -

As with a lot of places you need to choose carefully. Dunelm have a wide range of towels. My latest purchase was towels from their Hotel range and I've never had towels so thick and luxurious and although not cheap they are a reasonable price. If anyone gave me towels whatever the label I wouldn't judge it as being cheap just because of the label, I would go by the quality. If they were thin then I'd say cheap!0 -
