I've not heard of that being the 'thing' to do, but my maid of honour has paid for my flights to dublin for my hen party, no accomodation costs as we're staying with my parent, but our best man has paid for flights and accomodation for OH's stag weekend.

I've not heard of that either...
In fact, depending on what you're doing for your hen and what else you are asking your CB to pay for, I would be a bit miffed if you wanted me to pay for your hen night too....!!!
What has happened on most of the hens I've been on is that the hens all club together to make the Bride2Be's evening cheaper.

I've always heard the maid of honour pays for the hen night, but I think when people are wanting weekends away etc its a bit much to expect. Its much more reasonable in my opinion for all the hens to chip in for the cost, but the maid of honour usually ends up forking out more than the other hens.

My sis is my maid of honour and wanted me to have 2 hen nights and a hens weekend-I laughed at her, its just too much!

I think traditionally the hens cover the cost. The idea is that if there are 10 of you (including the bride) you split the bill 9 ways so the bride doesn't pay.

    SOOOOO not happening for me.

As we're all skint I decided to drop the idea of a weekend away so I wouldn't be leaving people out and have just started to like the idea of a girly sleepover at mine. Due to the fact we want cocktails, movies, pizza and snacks I have suggested a kitty (about £10 each for 6 people) so I can go buy everything for the night. Already had a few friends say they don't think that's fair.... (apparently if I'm having them to mine I should shell out for it all?? Yeh thanks guys, I'll pay for all of you to come to my hen do!)

My maid of honour is skint (as are the rest of my bridesmaids and myself). We're having a girly day giving each other facials/pedicures etc. and drinking pink fizz, then we're going to pizza express with tesco vouchers and then we'll go out for a few drinks somewhere cheap. I think everyone is paying for their own drinks, though I reckon they'll probably buy me a drink each. I wouldn't ask for more from them, though I do think that traditionally, as others have said, the hens cover it.

They think its not fair to chip in a few quid for a night of cocktails etc to celebrate your hen night?! Nice friends you have!!

for my sisters hen, we went to a chinese buffet - so that my Mum and Aunty could come along - everyone had goodie bags and enjoyed themselves, and then, after the meal, my sister carried on into town with some of the younger ones (my sister was 38!) and partied the night away, but my Mum and Aunty had been able to share the evening too.

I've never been to a hen do where the bride has paid for stuff personally.

For my sis, Mum & me paid most, then the other girls took it in turn to get drinks.

Another time all the hens chipped in for a pic nic & paid the brides entrance to a burlesque club.

All that said, I wouldn't expect my hens to have to stump up loads for my hen do - I'll just go with the flow :)

Apparently 2 mof my BMs have been planning already even though I have a year to go! :D

i went to a hen night where they got a limo and the MOH was organising it and hardly anyone turned up so i helped her pay most of it as she was skint!

I dont expect anything other than a few novelty items and thats it from my hens.

I also dont expect to pay for a drink on the night but thats generally as when its a special occasion (18ths,21st hen nights!) i always talk men at the bar into paying ;)
would love to win an ipad!
