Am I missing something? Where was the spam??

presumably it has been removed by mods, which is the point of reporting it. Of course it tends to leave the thread looking a little incoherent.

I have a question about valuation. We had surveyor come and have a look around the house on Tuesday, and he said he will send off the report to the mortgage company the same afternoon. The landlord was there too, and I haven't though really, but when OH came back and I told him about the visit, we started wondering if we will receive the report as well.

Now, today is Friday and we heard nothing from FD or the surveyor. I hope all is fine, but in the end it us who are the surveoyr's customers, as it is us who paid for the service, so shouldn't we be receiving the report as well?

When we bought our previous house about 4-5 years ago, we did receive the report.

  • Our mortgage switch went over on Monday and made my first overpayment on Wednesday (the £99 fee which was automatically added).

It was much better than dealing with my last mortgage provider - just my usual log in details (was a FD customer before the mortgage switch) told him how much I wanted to pay and then it was actioned. He also told me that I can easily set up an automatic overpayment standing order if I wanted, but that I could call back any time to do it again. Have to be careful how much I overpay as it's not offset and I don't want to go overboard the same month as my missus goes and spends a fortune on clothes.

Completed our FD Offset remortgage from Nationwide today.
How long does it normally take for the mortgage account to show up online. Anyone know?

We are still on the 'road'. Finally got valuation report after calling FD. They also made a mistake and send a fax to our solicitors stating that the valuation was £161k, when we are buying the house for £215k. The mortgage is for £161k. Well, their customer service is great and I cannot fault them on acting quickly.

I still haven't requested the depost money from NS&I, but wil do this once we send the signed documents back to solicitors.

  • One thing I found which worried me - Encact contacted my bank to see how much the mortgage to be ported is, I got a letter dated 1/10/2010 stating that I needed to ensure that money in my bank was there (different to the normal amount) to ensure that everything would go well...

The upshot was I was worried if they were going to port the mortgage early by 2 months - but having spoken to them they were just seeing how much is owed, and not transferring the mortgage but they didn't tell me in the letter it was just for gaining an amount rather transferring.

    Somewhat frustrating!

  • Well, it's belated, but everything's gone through swimmingly, no problems or issues, Halifax (Old mortgage), Enact and First Direct (New mortgage) seemingly went smoothly; no issues what so ever.
The only issue I've had is Halifax took this months mortgage out again for December, along with FD. That said, I've been told I'll be refunded in a few weeks.
Very pleased, no complaints with Enact.
    Well done
