After wandering around Ikea Southampton for a couple of hours after work, I made my way to the car having only bought a couple items from the Marketplace.

Parking after 5pm is £1, or free if you spend £20.

I spent £6.42.

The three pay stations wouldn't accept a card for the £1 due, I didn't have any change. So off I wander back to the Customer Service to pick up a Deli style waiting ticket.

Polite girl informs me... "don't worry, the barrier opens automatically after 9pm anyway."

So there you have it, park there all day, just leave after 9pm and it's free.
