No longer registered user?

I'm fairly new at using ebay, so can anyone tell me why someone would suddenly become "no longer a registered user"? Yesterday I purchased an item from an e-bay shop, it arrived promptly thismorning and I am very pleased with it - so no complaints from me. I have just tried to leave feedback only to find the user is no longer registered. Why would this be?
Waddle you do eh?

    Hi Poppy

This could happen for several reasons...and I think after you have heard them you will be glad that you have received your item!!

One of the main reasons for someone being NARU is because eBay have suspended their account. This could be for one of many reasons. It could include fraud (which is often the case), wrong contact details, a number of complaints about them or anything similar. May I ask if this eBay seller has had many negative feedbacks recently?

One of the main other reasons they would be NARU is because they asked eBay to close their account.

Thanks for that. The seller in question has 100% positive feedback, has been a member for over a year, and had her stock listed for the next two months at least. Yesterday she sent an e-mail saying she had left me feedback and would I do the same for her when the item arrived, It doesn't seem to me that SHE was thinking of winding up.

My account got suspended by eBay because someone hacked into my account and I got an email saying they suspected fraudulent use fo teh account. They had in fact changed the email address but thankfullyhadn't done anything bad.

So now I had to open a new account which was a bummer because I had 57 100% positive :-(
I love it when a plan comes together :rotfl:

That sounds really really strange then! Have you tried e-mailing her as I think that is your best option? Are you sure she is NARU as sometimes a glitch in the system can make it say NARU but when you refresh it reappears as normal.

    Let us know!

Have contacted my seller and it seems she has had a similar experience to you. Says she has been suspended for a few days while Ebay sort it out. Its a bit worrying to know that all work building up goodwill (and good feedback) can be destroyed by some mindless idiots.

Hackers can only get into your account if you have been less than careful, either by leaving your info on the pC if using a shared computer, replying to a phishing mail or having a password that someone with a grudge can guess.

Once ebay know you are innoccent of any problems actually caused by that hacker they will reinstate your account. They just need to clear up any outstanding problems first otherwise as if they just unblocked your account you would end up getting all the hate mail and legal notices from disgruntled buyers caught by the hacker.

If however you open another account while you are temporarily NARUd you are liable for an immediate and permanent ban. Operating on ebay whilst an account in your name is NARU is against Ebay T and Cs. I suggest that you work with ebay to sort out the problem with your account and get that one back togetehr with your good rating, rather than risk opening a new account and getting caught.
