Am I entitled to Council Tax Benefit?

I have put in a claim for Council Tax Benefit. I have been to the offices a few times and each time I speak to someone else, and each person tells me something different - ranging from 'I needn't bother applying as I'm not entitled to anything', to 'I should be eligible for100% benefit'.

Is there a site (or a knowledgeable person here!) who can tell me the simple facts?

I am a single woman in my 40s who lives alone.
I am on Incapacity Benefit, Income Support and DLA (Lower Rate for both components). I also get Housing Benefit.

Until recently I shared accommodation and the Landlady dealt with the Council Tax. I have had to move and am now renting a room (Housing Benefit pays the rent) and will be responsible for the Council Tax myself as I am the only person in the house.

Also, if I can keep picking brains here, I am on the Housing List and have been offered a place -I'm looking at it next week, but it might be a few more weeks before I can move in (if it is suitable). This will be a one-bedroomed ground floor flat. Will I get CTB for this?

Thanks in advance for any clarification you can give me.

Model the scenarios in the Entitled to website as this should give a reasonably good forecast as long as you put in your information accurately.

Thankyou both...why don't the people at the Housing Office seem to know this? ...It looks like I might be entitled to 100% benefit....I might show this site to the Housing Office!
