Car Insurance after Mini Stroke

Hi can anyone advise whether we need to inform car insurance company after having a mini stroke. We do not have to tell the DVLA as our doctor has signed my OH as fit to drive within the month as specified by the DVLA.

Thanks

Does your insurance's T&Cs say you have to inform them about changes in your health?

With mini strokes you are only supposed to notify DVLA if problems exist after a month from the date of the incident, not within a month.

That's exactly what the OP said

The OP didn't say that, hence my post!

The OP said they HAVEN'T informed the DVLA because they don't have to. The OP's question was about whether they need to inform the insurer in this situation?

    No.

There is no specification to get a doctor's cert within a month of a mini stroke.

The problem only arises if you have symptoms outside the month following the first TIA.

    Hence my post.

    Apologies in advance.

Is that a BMW MINI stroke or a proper mini?

Fingers crossed that he gets well soon.

The OP said they haven't notified the DVLA then you said they don't have to notify the DVLA. If you are saying they didn't even need to get the doctor's opinion, then fine, but that's nothing to do with what you originally said which was to do with whether they need to notify the DVLA or not, which they already said they know they don't have to.

Thanks for all the replies, sorry been away and have only just looked today. I will check the insurance docuements to see if we have to inform them. As for the other debate, I probably worded it wrong, but I did know about only telling the DVLA after the 1 month, it just so happened that within the month the doctor said he was okay to drive.

    Cheers
