Duplicated and late email alerts

I've had some email alerts from MSE today that shouldn't have happened. Anyone know what is going on?
Am susbscibed to some threads and have daily alerts. Received these alerts yesterday (30th) about 12 - 1 a.m. in the morning as usual.
But have had 2 repeated alerts today - about 10 and 11 o'clock. These were for threads that had new postings on 29th - nothing yesterday.
Is there a glitch somewhere - I know its not my email as nothing else has duplicated?
Anyone else had this problem?
