Can anybody tell me if there is a time limit for a solicitor to send final accounts for the purchase of a property bought my flat in Sepember 2000........got a bill yesterday from the solocitor dealing with the sale for £176.18 10 years after the event

The amount has been outstanding for 10 years. It becomes statute barred at 6 years. A court will not uphold it, unless there has been correspondence no more than 6 years after the bill was due and within the last 6 years in which yoou acknowledge the amount is due.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Would the 6 year limit still apply if amount owing was never set down in writing and first time OP knew the amount owing was when he received the bill yesterday.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
