Its 1st July And..........

Gale force winds were predicted and although maybe not quite that bad, I witnessed my greenhouse door being blown off in true Italian Job style this morning.

The spuds are looking seriously sorry for themselves now too and the pots of beans were on their sides.

The rain is battering down and has been all night but of course this is a rule living in Northern Ireland - the first day of the school holidays has to be an absolute stinker. Welcome to the summer.

Just what hubby said this morning. Just the same here, but I think the rain has stopped now. Hope it brightens up down there with you soon.

Oh no, hope your beans are ok  Will your greenhouse door be repairable?!

It is very windy here today, but still very warm too. Great for getting all the washing dry outside!

Managed to put the door back on though one of the runner wheels had sheered off. It was left being held in place by patio chairs with a couple of compost filled planters on them! At least the wind hadn't minced the tomatoes and cucumbers inside!

I live in South Hants, can I have some of your rain please? Only had a mild sprinkle a night back, not even enough to dampen the soil, it just evaporated at once

Slight breeze which is good, as it has been very hot & muggy lately, just right for blight :(

Winds have been really gusting all day here in shropshire, strong enough to overturn my wooden garden table and my poor tomato plants. Have managed to retrieve some and hope they will recover. Raining now which is good as the water butts need refilling but I wish the wind would calm down, have bought those plants I can inside but there's lots out that are looking very sorry for themselves.

Rain hasn't come this far south yet Orange King, but the wind has been strong all day...nothing I can do for lots of my plants, will have to hope that they survive!
