Fridge freezer 6 months

Hi all,

My samsung fridge/freezer stopped working recently after 6 months. The engineer came out and said a replacement is required. Samsung said I will be getting a new one in 28 days.

What I want to know is whether I have a legal right to claim for loss of food items and also for being without a fridge/freezer for 28 days.

I've contacted Samsung and they said they don't provide any compensation.

Thanks,

spqr

Have you got cover for the food on your home insurance?

You'd be expected to claim on your contents insurance, which usually has cover for loss of food in fridge/freezer.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

What if you haven't got contents insurance? It isn't compulsory and thousands, (including me) do not have it, the retailer should compensate as "consequential losses"

The excess on the contents is 100 pounds; I did consider this method but it works out more expensive than replacing the food.

    Ah well, c'est la vie!
