How to send a very heavy item abroad?

I'm trying to send a heavy item to Sweden. The package weighs only 20kg in normal terms, however because of its size couriers measure volumetric weight instead, which is 149.5kg!!
All the quotes I received are near £1500. Any ideas? Could I send it as freight?
Weight: 20kg
Height: 158cm
Length: 83cm
Width: 57cm

Could it be split? What is it if you don't mind me asking?

it's a pet cage, so can't be split or folded unfortunately. £216 is not a bad price though... better than £1500 anyway!

Must be some cage to be worth that amount of postage. Mine came flatpack (slightly smaller than yours)

Bought off ebay for £57 + £7.50 delivery by courier.

Please report back when you finally sort it, Would be useful to know.
