Can anyone recommend a current account for 16yr old who is working part time during the summer and doing A levels in September?

Thanks

To be honest, around that sort of age, they're all much of a muchness. You're not going to be applying for any overdraft/credit facilities, so APRs don't bother you. I'd decide based on service, to be honest:

-Which have a prescence in your town?
-Which seem the friendliest when you visit?
-Which can you get through to their telephone banking the quickest? (Seriously, trudging through 5 minutes of "for whatever, press 1" can grate - First Direct wins here, but as you have to be 18 to bank with them, Lloyds ain't bad.
-Consider if you're going to use Online Banking. If so, Lloyds, HSBC, Halifax, and First Direct are very good.
-Decide if you'll need a debit card (probably will lol), so you may find Nationwide, Co-op, and Halifax only want to give out nigh-on-useless cards to 16 year olds like Electron or Solo. Lloyds are known to give pretty much everyone a Visa Debit, as are Natwest and RBS.
-Ignore the freebies. Don't let them cloud your judgement at all :)
