yep i agree with you, blatant, some people never learn, I've reported them for you, but I think a few other people on here should do the same. people power always seems to work, especially on ebay.

perhaps we should set up a hit squad on MSE to stop these people.

Hey there, what's shill bidding? I assume something to do with pushing up the bid price?
How do you know when someone does this?
    Thanks

shall bidding, is normally done when a person has several ebay accounts open (or uses a friends account) to artificially bid up the price of there auction either to get more money for the item, or to suggest there is alot more interest in the item.

hard to spot if there very good, trouble is the people that do it are so greedy that they generally swap feedback (in order to boost this up aswell) and you can see it on the feedback score.

I've actually just posted a thread about pasting in someones userid into a url string and you can see what that user has for sale, whos bidding and whos won previous auctions.

    good luck

  • Can I assume that you mean Sexbungle as the shill bidder not sexybungle?

It does look a bit iffy I agree, however the previous items won were from about 3 years ago so maybe not blatant. Also the items being bid on are large items for collection only so it is likely that a bidder would be local as these two are.

Overall I tend to agree that it is probably shill bidding, however much as I hate the practice I do think that maybe we are in danger of reporting everything that looks even slightly iffy and could end up messing up perfectly legitimate sellers (and buyers)

I am sure there are lots more posters with a lot more experience than me, however just my opinion.

Thanks for that. Incidentally I think I've been 'had' by a seller. Not sure what to do yet. He's just had over 20 negative feedbacks in 24 hours for failing to deliver...

I have successfully bidded on an item and paid by PayPal on 28th August. I know not a long time really, but the seller is not responding to any emails from me or other successful bidders on other items he's sold. Lots of these successful bidders have now given this seller a really bad negative feedback and so the seller has had over 20 negatives from different bidders in the last 24 hours.

There are a few positives in amongst the negatives, so I don't know what's going on.

I've had the the same with a seller who went 'rogue' and was selling a dozen iPods a day and was banned. Raise a claim ASAP with Paypal.
