Student loan for second degree (this time abroad)

Hi,

I've already completed a degree and had a student loan for it. I graduated in 2006 and have been working and paying back some of my loan. Now aged 27, and having realised the career i chose as an uninformed 17 year old is not what i want to do for the next 40 years of my working life, I'm planning a career change while i'm still relatively young and have no mortgage or family commitments. But this means doing another 3 (maybe 2) year degree.

However, having an Australian girlfriend now, i'm planning to study in Australia. The course fees are a lot more expensive over there and I will need financial assistance to be able to pay the fees.

Is it possible to get a second student loan? And with it being over seas?

I have no idea where to start looking so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark.

You can get no funding for foreign courses from the UK. Have you looked at any funding available from the Australian government if you emigrate?

But universities often offer scholarships to exceptional foreign students. Are you exceptional el_marko?

Are you planning to a degree in something that would be in demand in Australia?
  • I studied in the states and couldn't get any funding. You are gonna have to stump it up unless you get a scholarship from the uni. But that is pretty hard to get!
