Now that we've reached the end of June (including Emergency Budget & World Cup), I wondered what everyone's experience is of the property market at the moment - has it improved from last month?

Nice to see you've picked up on the feedback from last month. I particularly like the last 2 options ;-)

Best ever viewings month for ages in our office, I think we had about 95? Plus 9 sales. However this ALL happened in the first half of the month, it has been absolutely dead for the last week and a half.
Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.

Yes, just looking on rightmove in our area, there seemed to be several houses that all went under offer in early June, then nothing much again after that.
  • Seems at a our house everyone who viewed in may went away to think about it,and they all came back in 1st week of June and scrapped over putting offers in!!

Great, as we acheived the price we wanted 1% below £700k asking price. Weird though that both parties came back on the same week with offers, and neither of them actually believed that someone else was interested!

We've gone for the no chain people, although the others have exchanged on their property and want us to let them know if the sale falls through. Sale seems to be proceeding quickly, contracts drawn up,surveyors done, searches done in two weeks.
  • Have had one viewing this month and have decided to take my property off the market . the agent i am with would normally expect 300 overall viewings in June and they have achieved half that , with 7 houses having offers excepted .

Anyone else? It looks like June was better than May, at least, although there are still only a trickle of viewings.

    Hi,
From a buyer perspective, in my area, the housing market is very slow. The newer, bigger builds seem to be the best sellers. In June there seems to have been a slow movement of sales, but who knows what July will bring.

We have only viewed about 5 properties since April time as nothing seems to be suitable. Maybe it's the picky buyers like myself who are to blame ;) .....we are all obviously hanging on for our own individual reasons

June was a very good month for us - 9 viewings in total. No offers yet though.

Just into July and already got 2 viewings. :D
Have been DEBT FREE for 4 years and staying that way :T
