Hi all, thanks for the thread very informative, after living abroad for 3 years my hubby and I have just moved back to Wales and finding it hard to find jobs so i thought Avon might be a good way of making a little money, I am not naive enough to think that we can make a full time living off it but at the moment we have not money coming in so it would be an improvement.

Just a few questions if it is ok, my dad said he would take some of the Avon books into his work place someone used to do it but he was lazy and unreliable but he had about 12 customers there, they also said they would take it to a club they go to, plus i was thinking of doing the streets around my neighbourhood, so questions: do you get told what areas to do or can you choose? Yes to both (sort of!) - it depends what is free...you'll automatically be given wherever is free thats closest to your, unless you ask for somewhere different. Do you have to pay for the books? Yes - but not to start off with. You'll be given at least 20 books for your first campaign when you are signed up, and 20 for your second campaign. When you put your first order on, you'll need to order brochures for your third campaign due to the overlap between submitting your order & receiving the delivery (during that week we are onto the next campagin so otherwise you wouldn't have the books till you got your delivery). WHen you do start paying for books its £4.86 for the first 15 (33p a book) then it drops to 48p for each lot of 5.If so what do you do if you want to give books to 3 or 4 streets plus different areas surely that would cost a lot? What if you spend money on the books (if applicable) and don't get enough orders to cover the costs? Also what is a realistic monthly figure to make? You don't need a book per house - as we have 3 weeks per campaign, you can deliver 20 books, recollect them, repackage, and deliver to the next lot of houses, so even with just 20 books you can cover a large number of houses over a few weeks. A realistic monthly figure is hard to say - from my first campaign we've always sold at least £400ish, so we make £100 per campaign (if I don't order anything for myself lol)...others sell more, others sell less - it depends on how many people you know, how big your territory is, and how much your customers spend. I know that would be hard as it probably varies quite a lot but i just wondered if there was a ball park figure

Sorry for all the questions but i am seriously considering this and would like to know a bit more about it before i sign up

The good thing about avon is that you don't pay anything up front - so sign up, give it a good go, see how many orders you get, and then you can decide. If you don't put an order through, then you won't owe anything. But of course if you do that, let whoever signed you up have the orders you did collect, so that they can deliver to the customers and explain that you've left. If they just never hear anything, and never get their orders, then it makes it harder for the next rep. Good luck!

    Well "Avon Connects" !! WELL!!

Not been on the site for 5 mins and already it has annoyed me.

    1. I am not eligible to receive customer leads. It appears that this is because I have an outstanding balance.

    ...

How do you find this out claregre?

Ok worked out a couple of things about connects: your usename shows up to other people rather than your actual name. Apart from when someone is searching for a rep, then it shows the names or all the local reps. But not much of your info, so apart from the person deciding that they like the sound of your name I think itll be random I someone picks you! I guess they might be tweeking that bit in time.

And it keeps logging you out. Was just accepting aureols friend thingy and it logged me out. The notification has gone and she's not on my friend list. Your profile also shows a lot of information although you can change this.
