Economical mono laser printer?

Options
What's the best mono laser printer which is cheap to run please? Daughter needs to print lots of school work - already have a Dell all in one, but it eats the ink like it's a hungry ink monster  Quite happy to have the 2 printers running alongside each other, but I'm so confused as to which is the best value for money. Could someone please advise me? Many thanks xx

I also considered purchasing a laser printer but I wasn't convinced at the high cost of the printer.

I bought a ink-jet 3 in 1 printer at the supermarket (Epson) at around 50 pounds and the refill cartridges off amazon are very cheap too. (10-15 pounds for a whole package of black/colour inks; black alone being cheap).

samsung laser priiinters are cheep and thier not bad too,not the best but good and cheep,
if you look round you can get them at a good price and the toner too ,
i run a samsung ML-1915 and toner is about £50 for 2500 sheets of printing,or 1500 with the small one, thiers two types
anf i looked at the kodak ink jet stuff but they cost more in the long term even through you can get a set off inks for £20 ,they do about 430ish sheets in black and a lot less printing photo's and pic's
there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff

I know this isn't a mono one but have a look at this:

I bought it and it's worked fine.

Another vote for Samsung. I have a SCX4300 all in one which was about 60 pounds I think. The cartridges are easy to refill with toner at about 15 pounds a time. Viking have been offering a cheap Samsung laser as a special offer recently.

    Now that's a dangerous job.
Not that anything is sharp or toxic about the toner but my wife's tongue surely would be when the inevitable happened.... :o

PC Pro had a review of a Samsung ML2525 which had 6 out of six on value for money. You can pick one up for approx £95 at Printerbase and it comes with an additional free toner worth £38! :)
    Useful is beautiful

The little Samsungs have a good reputation, but if you can pick up an old HP Laserjet series 4 or 5 for next to nothing from ebay etc, they think nothing of churning out 10,000 prints a month.

Another vote the Samsung brand here. I have a CLP-315 (like you got fed up with paying through the nose for ink) and it works beautifully. I've had it for 18 months (it was a xmas present) and I've only needed to replace the black toner once in all that time.
