ppi reclaiming

Hi i approached britania mortgage brokers in october 2006 to get a mortgage, i was selfemployed at the time and they offered me a mortgage with ge money. They told me i had to take out the ppi in order to get it so i agreed and added £2625 to the balance, i was told this was for the life of the mortgage, since then ive found out about the mis selling of ppi and looked up my paper work to find out that the ppi is with a seperate company d&d homecare ltd and it is only valid until octber 2011. So my question to you if you could please help in anyway is do i have a claim and who do i claim against .

Thankyou chris

    Hi and welcome

Will leave this one for Dunstonh who will be able to help and advise you on this matter, as its in regards of mortgage ppi, although more or less the same as loan ppi, Dunstonh will know more on this, and should be here at some point.
    Good luck.;)

easy complaint to make. Single premium MPPI is not justifiable in virtually all cases and complaints on these are upheld in over 90% of the time. You complain to the mortgage broker who sold it (or their employer).

    Hi there

Personally a letter with your own words is far better than using a template letter, and I believe the success rates for reclaiming this way are more likely to be more successful, because they are used to everyone using the same type of template letters, other than the reasons of course for being mis sold the policy.

Just write all you can to make sure you cover everything, request they deal with this complaint by 8 weeks.

And of course the normal timescale is that of 8 weeks, they may request for longer time to deal with your complaint, but if your complaint is totally ignored, you hear nothing at after the 8 weeks, your in your right to complain to the Financial ombudsman service. (FOS).

I'm sure Dunstonh will be back and have some further advice on how to approach the broker, good luck.;)
