Messed up ... :(

Sent the wrong items to the wrong customer..

Was advised by one customer this morning so messaged them back saying I'd contact the other buyer but they had the option of returning for a refund (including return postage) and I'd forward on the other parcel when I recieved it. Or just return for a return (including return postage). Then sent a message to the second buyer saying about the same thing..

All these horrible stories about ebay lately, I'm really worried.

Could layer on excuse after excuse but I don't want to.

Anyone ever had a situation like this go wrong?
Or am I the only one who's this stupid :(

There have been a couple of threads on here where people have done this. Mistakes happen, it's how you deal with them that counts. You can still be a really good ebayer to these buyers.

Soooo beyond annoyed at myself :(

Offering them the 2 options (complete refund or swap when i recieve the other back) right thing to do?

Suppose I've got no comeback if they refuse to post back?

  • I sent 2 items to the wrong addresses - just got them to mail them to each others address ( retaining p.o.p.`s ) then just refunded their postage twice - as a sweetner - they were ok about it - mistakes happen ............................

( LOOK AT THE BLOODY ENGLAND FOOTBALL TEAM ! - DONT GET ME STARTED !! )

good feedback received saying how helpfull I had been and refunding the postage
As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question ! ;)
  • I was not feeling very well, posted 3 items late! I messaged the buyers, apologised for the late despatch (only one day late) and included some stamps as recompense. To compound my error two items went to the wrong people.

I paid my buyers the postage to forward the items to the correct addresses which they did promptly, and also refunded the purchase prices. It wasn't a huge amount of money but it made me feel better.

I had wonderful feedback from all the buyers and very understanding messages.

Note to self....Never send items when feeling unwell, the brain does not function correctly.

Hope you resolve your problem with a good outcome.

I would asked them if it was OK to send to each other recorded delivery and you will refund them the full postage value.

But check 1st they may not want a 3rd party knowing their address.

If they are awkward you may have to arrange for the items to be collected.

Just be honest and makes sure you refund them fully. Not much more you can do.
Except be more careful next time.

I only sell a few items at a time just in case i get orders mixed up.

I had this happen to me a couple of weeks ago. I told the seller and i returned the item tracked and she refunded me the postage, the other buyer also done this. Then item was posted out to me, everything fine.

    It happens....
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
