inheritance as income?

When my mum died, her house was sold and the money split between her children. Will this count as income for child tax credit/working tax credit purposes?

It will be ignored by Tax Credits.

But any other means tested benefits claimed could be reduced or stopped if its over £6,000.

Any interest paid that is over £300 per year will count as income by Tax Credits.

IB & DLA aren't means tested. However, pensions affect IB.
