Laminate worktops query

Looking at worktops in a modest price range, matt laminate, and can't fathom out the difference between a piece costing £70 and one at £125 when the dimentions are exactly the same and the description doesn't differ. I know you get what you pay for - would the more costly one be likely to give longer service ?
I'm looking at the "sheds" 'cos I'm in a small town with no choice except to buy online.

home i'm not stating the obvious here, but check the thickness of the w/top. 38/40mm w/top looks and feels beefier but will obviously cost more than 28/30mm w/top.
something else to look for, pay attention to the way the laminate is formed and sealed around the front edge as this is where seperation can occur with spills/moisture etc. also run your hand along the front edge, feel for bumps/undulations/cracks. this is where they are most likely to occur and nothing worse than finding faults once the w/top is fitted.
i'm informed that axiom or duropal are two quality makes to look out for, may or maynot be printed on the underside. i had axiom and am very pleased with it.

I run a maintenance company and we do quite a lot of kitchen installs. We tend to encourage customers to use Duropal or Axiom (made by Formica. The quality of the laminate is very good and alse doesn't chip when cut unlike some cheaper worktops. Remember a good quality well fitted laminate worktop will really set a kitchen off. A poorly fitted top will loook a right mess and you will have to live with it!Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

What do people think of Wickes worktops please ?
My 8 year old B&Q tops have been brilliant and I'd like something that will do good service for a similar amount of years.0
