I'd say not!
But it will depend on where you look.
What type of dog it is.
Puppy or adult dog.
They might increase your deposit to 2 months in advance or maybe three.
I have rented with a dog, my neighbour rents with her dog and my friend has just taken on a property with his dog!
So no!
Puppies are much harder though, as are big burly dogs!

It's a pretty small German Shepherd, but she's 11 yrs old, mega chilled out now!0

It shouldn't be a problem unless its a brand new furnished place. We had no problem with our dog but then I told them she was well behaved, never barked and toilet trained. You just need to not give them a chance to worry.0

Depends on the area you are in. Where I live, yes its nigh on impossible simply because most of the head leases and regulations make it difficult to keep pets on the developments so the LLs can't offer the option to tenants.0

same here...were not against people having pets in the flat we let out but we have to get permission from the management company, but i think its because our flat is not on the ground floor.

I have just managed to rent a property 2 months ago in my area with two dogs, aged 4 and 2. Both of them are large breed dogs, and I didn't even have to put down an extra deposit for them!
However, this is the first time I haven't had to put down an extra deposit, the last few times it has been an extra £200 per dog on top of the normal deposit.
Hope that gives you a little more hope!:jHappily Married 12/09/09:j:jDS1 born 22/08/10 7lb 6oz:j

How can a German Shepherd be described as 'pretty small' ???"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

They all are if you look at them from a distance

I'm sure there are dog lovers out there. Just state your circumstances clearly in the advert and I'm sure you'll find people.0

It's at the discretion of the landlord.
If it were my property, I'd be happy to accommodate a dog providing you lodged a dog deposit equal to 1 month's rent.0
