Thanks for highlighting this: and the poster that warned us that Virgin/MBNA do this quite a lot!
I just sold my old house and paid off the balance -about £4500+ on Virgin (again a 0% introductory which is currently 15.5% for card purchases)
I shall keep a VERY careful eye on them to ensure if they ratejack me I shall cancel the card immediately!
I was keeping the card active as I'm moving soon and have put a few major expenses on it -purely as it had 0% of new purchases also till July 2011 -or so I thought!
It actually only covered purchases up to 31/12/10 and then 0% on these ONLY till July 2011, so a MAJOR thankyou for prompting me to check!
I was going to whack the white goods etc onto that card and use it until July then pay it all off! oops!
I shall slap all the major stuff onto my sainsburys CC now as even though its a tad more at 15.9% it's also a 56 day interest free on purchases.

theres another gripe: The Sainsburys card shows clearly the APR, the Virgin one gives a monthly equivalent only it seems!
Not terribly easy to compare: or perhaps thats the whole point?

I think it's alway worth cancelling unused MBNA cards anyway as they are generally the ones that offer good 0% rates and balance transfers also: i.e. if you already have one from MBNA you can't then apply for a new one!
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to respond with your own.

Honestly, ditch it and get another card.
Co Op aren't bad. You might get a better rate to start with but they don't jack it up later like Virgin.
