ok checked over all seems ok started fine drove well no odd sounds or bangs, also checked under neath some rusting but no more than any normal car that is 5 going on 6 yrs old. i was thinking about getting the AA out to check it over but tried to get a quote to do it and they wont not sure why maybe because its an import. the only thing really is the driver leather seat seem warn for only 27000 miles on the clock steering wheel fine and other plastics in the cabin all seemed fine. just the driver seat was very creased, the car is sold with 3 months warrenty on parts and labour which i can extend if i wish.
so all in all i have a good feeling about it the wife not so much she is just worried because if things to do it will be alot more exspensive than my vectra.

oh one more thing im 100% sure its a thai import that has been brought upto uk spec because when i lifted the hood there was thai writing on the oil cap

It will be a Thai built motor, though mine is made in SA it's full of Toyota Thailand parts and part numbers, oh and replacement genuine Toyota oil filters are made in China.
Lets be honest the UK genuine supplied are only assembled in SA anyhow, don't suppose there's a Soweto version of Longbridge complete with Red Robbo, please no.

The 3 months warranty will be about as much use as a politicians promise, so don't be complacent about inspections and gut feelings.
The mileage is very low but may well be correct, ours is coming up to 3 years old and due to Lady GS's job change has only covered 17K.

The seat creasing may simply be the result of a big fellow's r send.

The engine may not be a known one here and i haven't a clue what else it's used in, though Toyota petrol engines are usually totally reliable.

Damn, sorry to hear that mate (it's an awful feeling ain't it - if only I'd ............)

There'll always be another though - just may take some time to find it. Try finding an owners club and they may be able to point you in the right direction :)
