Epson printer - paper jam/printing problems

Hi Folks

Forgive me if this is the wrong forum to post my query, but I recently bought an Epson SX415 stylus printer. Last week, I managed to get some paper jammed in the printer while trying to print. I have managed to get most of the jammed paper out (at least the paper that I could see), but the printer still won't work. Whenever I try to print again, there is an error message on the face of the printer saying the printer is out of paper. I suspect this is due to some paper still being jammed in the printer. What is the best way to make sure that I have removed all the jammed paper?

If everything fails, do you think I should take the printer back to the retailer (PC World), to see if they can sort it out for me? The only problem with that is that although I bought it at the start of the year (so I think the standard 12 month warranty should cover it), I have managed to loose the paper work. However, I did pay for the printer by credit card. Would that be enough proof of purchase to show PC World?

Many thanks in advance for your response.

If you can, one option is to get a piece of paper, fold it over and try and pass it through the paper feeding mechanism, which should show up any blockages.

Depending on what caused the original jam, you may not have any rights at all. If you overloaded the printer, or didn't fan the paper before putting it in, and that caused the problem, then you're out of luck. Otherwise, best option is to contact Epson direct. If you want to get PCW to do it, then head in store.
