Repelling flies from ferret hutch?

My ferret hutch seems to be attracting quite a lot of flies at the mo, despite daily cleaning of the poopy areas. Any MS tips on keeping flies at bay?

We have the same problem with our chickens, we keep everywhere spotlessly clean but flies still appear! Last week I bought a flitrap and it is fab, only had it a week and it is half full of flies already, revolting but satisfying lol.
It was expensive so not really money saving, you might be able to make your own though. The bait that you put inside is powder and smells of fish, you just add water to it.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -
what food is your ferret on? when I raw fed mine they used to drag meant back to their box, it would attract flies and if it wasnt emptied daily would be full of maggots!0

They are on half raw and half dry but their stashes are emptied twice a day because I am ultra paranoid about botulism after it killed some of my friends ferrets.
kjmtidea the Fli Trap sounds good, do you just sit it outside your chickens pen? I don't mind spending a little I'm just paranoid about maggots. :eek:0 -
You are supposed to put it around 10 metres away from your house so that the flitrap attracts the flies away from your house. Unfortunately our garden is tiny so that isn't possible, we have put it on our shed roof which is about 3 metres away, it is working wonders!Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0
