Tesco Discount Code

I asked to be e-mailed when a product was back in stock which they did this morning at 8.30a.m. On the e-mail, the link I was given back to the product quoted a discount code giving me an extra 20% off the final price. Upon ordering my garden furniture, I was told that the extra 20% offered ended yesterday and therefore was not valid - surely, if they sent me the code this morning it is their error (there is not expiry date on the discount code) and I should be able to claim the 20%. Am I being too simple here!!

Yes you are. They have the right to withdraw any offer at any time, without the need to inform you in advance...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

No unfortunately they dont have too although no harm in asking and would be good CS if they realised they made a mistake but there is no obligation to do so0
