Please enter some hypothetical figures into www.entitledto.co.uk.

If you have any questions regarding your entitlement feel free to ask, but this is not the place for discussions about whether it is worth working or not.
    Gone ... or have I?

I don't know as I'm single with no children, I know it's now what you want to hear but it feels a bit poo to see that after a 16 hour night shift to be paid the same amount. :(

I don't know about all the figures, etc but with the changes coming up for JSA/Housing Benefit then I think you would eventually be worse off. Its too difficult to say anyway because there are so many variables which would need to be taken into account.

  • It was just a comparrison, wasnt meant to insult or anything just curiosity.

I found out the total benefits paid should we not be working was roughly £6000 more than what we get currently. Ofcourse stipulations circumstances would change this sum, but its roughly around that.

Its a shame the system is this way - its hard on those who want to get out of the system.

I don't think you can put a price on the value of children growing up in an environment where they understand work ethics.

Well the "system" might be changing soon anyway to make it harder. Some people will moan about it but at the end of the day its for reasons like this.
