Almo (((hug))) have missed your comments. I think that dress is lovely, and would be great for a cocktail night, and defintely worth the shipping / etc if it makes you feel happier :)

I've been to the gym this morning, been working on my legs and hence now I can hardly walk they're killing me -well no pain no gain!!!!:o
DS's have just been to the shop by themselves and so are stuffing themselves stupid with sweets - they're suddenly growing up so quickly , its DS2's birthday tomorrow so have spent the morning making fairy cakes etc he had his party before the school holidays so tomorrow its just tea party for friends in the street -so only about 8 of them!!!! I tend to feed them and then scatter them;)

    Todays outfit:
DP red multi patterned maxi skirt
    Matalan blue top

Lola, how tall are you? I'm very envious of people that can get away with maxi skirts - I feel like I am probably too short for it.

Not quite so bad with dresses, but when I wear a maxi skirt i always get that "kid trying on mum's clothes" feeling...

@Almo - that dress is gorgous, saw it on the Topshop site earlier today and thought it was very chic.

@Goan - think the jacket's going back. The fact that I needed a 2nd opinion from you guys means it's not right really. Trying to be strong and only buy things that I really love from now on. I also liked Fashion Butter's idea of looking for a real leather vintage version if I still want that type of jacket.

Almo -welcome that dress is great.

I feel like pants today so haven't got dressed (worked last nght so only got up at 4pm) I bought a new blouse yesterday from the local market. It's an outlet type stall and he just sources old stock. The blouse is only a Primark one but was only a coulpe of quid. a pretty black lace one. I will put it on my blg next week when I get up and running again.

Almo- the dress is gorgeous and would be fine for cocktails

Alex- I'm 5' 4" so not very tall, tend to have to get petite as my legs seem to be shorter and my body longer (painting a lovely picture here I know), I tend to wear the maxi skirts with a fitted top eg vest / tshirt type, though I do have a maxi dress from New Look and I;ve never worn it because it is so long and needs chopping at the bottom - have changed into jeans now as I've just took DS's and their 2 friends brambling -well I was brambling they were just playing in the woods

Almo that dress is so gorgeous, go for it.

I have the opposite problem with maxi dresses and skirts. I'm not overly tall at 5 foot 9 but they always seem to come up a little short on me. Randomly though, I did find a dress at Asda that was long enough. I have tried tall ranges but they are then just too long!

    Outfit today
Purple fairisle top / dress thingy - DP's
    Indigo skinny jeans - DP's
    Brown wedges - DP's
    beige boyfreind cardigan - George

Went to the gym and I am now chilling out in grey leggings, tshirt, jumper AND a fleece (all very old!) and its SO cold!

I am now on the hunt for new coat(s). I have a gorgeous chocolate brown John Rocha funnel neck winter coat I have had for a couple of years that's still immaculate. But due to the weight loss this year it's now far too big and looks like it belongs to someone else. So I am after a good quality winter coat that I can wear to work and out etc. Not seen anything inspiring yet.

I have found the blue and brown leggings I was after, M&S was my saviour!
    Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j

Ice - if you love your coat so much it may be worth taking it to a tailor and seeing if they can alter it for you.
