Hi chaps
I've just celebrated my 32nd birthday and have, until today, been in debt since the age of 18.
I peaked at £18k (over 6 credit cards) when I was about 21. I've had bailiffs at my door on more occasions to recall. Credit was easy to come by (I was once given a credit card with a £4k limit despite having a CCJ against my name) and I am of a generation where we spend today, pay tomorrow.
Now I've paid every penny back to those I owe and am proud of this. Using this website plus a few others has made this possible.
I'm not a big earner, having always worked low-status jobs (bar-work, waiting, factory work) but have supplemented my income using tips from this site (Gap_Buster, OC-Pulse mystery shopping, Quidco for purchases, planning and budgeting, vouchers, dietary advice and advice from individuals) and now find myself debt-free.
To those of you struggling - lots of help is available, nothing is ever as bad as it first seems, don't bury your head in the sand and take action.
Thanks chaps - your help over the years has provided my with great support and resources. Very likely I will be struck by a bus this afternoon (driven by the Barclay brothers I suspect).

My story is similar to yours -first taste of credit at 18, racked up debts of >20k etc and I have a target DFD of my 32nd birthday too (18ish months to go!)
