Will not be renewing my WTC next year

Does anyone know the answer to this dilemma please?
Next year we won't be renewing our Working Tax Credits claim as my teenage daughter will be leaving college and going out to work, so my husband was thinking off now being able to do as much overtime as possible but I'm thinking that even thoug we will not be renewing next year we're still gonna get stung with an overpayment charge.
Can someone shed any light on this.:(

I don't understand.
Why has your teenage daughter got anything to do with it?0 -
You mean child tax credits? Your daughter is moving out or into full time employment? You have to let them know when this happens rather than leaving it to next year and then being overpaid.
Any overpaid amount will be due back even if you are not renewing claim.0 -
Because she is still in full time college so as of such we claim for her as a dependent child but she won't be as of next year0

The same for me I have been told thay will stopped at the end of aug same as child benefit so I will ring then.0

You will have a certain amount of entitlement up to the date she leaves college however you need to be wary of how much they pay you between 6th April 2011 and 31st July 2011 which is the cut off point for renewing the claim.
If you don't renew they will ask you to pay back all the money you received between 6/4/11 and 31/7/11 because they are provisional payments which are totally dependent on a renewal being done. Far better to renew and then withdraw the claim after that if you really want to.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Most people are allowed £25,000 more earnings than the previous years income and not be overpaid.0
